Our Network Controls our Thoughts

Have you been having trouble lately with your thought pattern? Constantly stuck in your own head and there’s no “exit” sign in sight?

I’ve been there. Heck, we have all been there. Lately, I’ve been listening to tons of podcasts on how to be successful, the next CEO, confident, etc. It may sound corny, but isn’t that what we all strive for? To have success? To look AND feel confident? It’s okay if you don’t want to share with the world your internal struggles but let this blog today help you. Open your heart as you read what I’ve been through and learned from it and others. Also, have a good time looking at my GIFs because GIFs make everything better.
Okay…here I go.

We all think it’s in our own strength we can overcome battles in our lives. From what I’ve learned from TED speakers, Psychologists, Pastors. Let me stop here to say something…Don’t run from the blog because you see I mentioned pastors…

Whether you believe in God or not, Pastors are people too and they’ve been through some pretty tough times as well. We’re all human, so hear me out please!

Anyway, I’ve learned a lot because I sought for it. Many times we do not seek for help or guidance. As humans, we believe it will just fall on our laps or God needs to answer our prayers in a hot second. But unfortunately, that’s not the case as much as I’d like it to be!

One time, I was listening to a Podcast by Holly Furtick and she gave me a good visualization.

“Picture life like Rocky’s corner.”

It’s SO hard to seek for help, but even Rocky, sought out for help.

There is so much going on in our world right now with bullying, discrimination, injustices, sexual assaults and accusations and a world without peace.

We’re going to feel down during a time like this. We’re going to feel as if there’s no hope for the future. We’re going to think, “Oh God. I don’t want to have kids to bring them into THIS world.”

Here’s the catch. It’s not wrong to feel that way, at all. It’s actually quite normal and most certainly O.K.

What’s not okay, is fighting alone. Fighting alone, isn’t where the battle is won.

Fighting with people in your corner, is where the battle is won.

In this podcast, Holly Furtick shared,

“You are not meant to fight alone. There are people in your corner and those people are to lean on to help you gain strength, to fight back! When people are together in time of crisis, you gain faith from one another – you gain their strength because there is power in numbers.”

I couldn’t put this quote in my own words because it was perfectly put in Holly’s.

Skip past this podcast, I was listening to another one on the same Podcast which is called Elevation – I highly recommend it for your daily commute to work or as a part of your morning meditation.

The other podcast was speaking about our Network – Which this all ties into. That’s why my title for October’s blog is “Our Network Controls our Thoughts.”

I learned that we all have neuropathways. In our neuropathways is our network. Our network controls our thoughts. Our thoughts control our actions. Pretty easy to understand, but I never really thought of it that way.

Our network is those who we surround ourselves with. The speaker shared that if we surround ourselves with  Mr. A who is always negative, putting you down, never lifting you up, very self seeking – you most likely will have low self esteem because your thoughts have stemmed from your network – who you surround yourself with.

If you surround yourself with Ms. A who tries to be positive, she’s realistic about life but is supportive, uplifting you, encouraging, etc. you’re more likely to have positive thoughts, positive self esteem, etc.

Once you control your thoughts, you control the outcome in life.

Last night, Fearless Movement had our first ever, “Fearless Women” group. This group is for  college aged students from 18-30 years old and our main goal is to empower one another to live fearlessly through the word and through fellowship.
It’s a community that provides a safe haven.
A community of women that can impact our thoughts for the better.

Fearless Women, encouraged me to write this because we spoke about our networks. It’s crucial with who you surround yourself with, especially in this scary time we’re facing in our world.

You’re not meant to fight alone, but choose wisely who you fight back with.

If you ever need to speak to someone in confidence of your privacy, please reach out to us.
