Encourage, Believe, and Soar.

Good evening my fearless friends!
I am forever grateful for all of those who have followed up on our website even while we were absent for so long. WOW! These past couple of months went extremely fast but boy, they were good, great even. To catch all of you up on Fearless Movement's events in the past couple of months, I would love to start with our Prom Fashion Show! Students from Glassboro High modeled gowns, escorted, and represented Fearless Movement with elegance. They also took a stand in front of their peers and a live audience, by acknowledging their fears they chose to drop ONSTAGE. They showed many that night that they are not alone in the fears, battles, and trials we face! That takes COURAGE.

Following the Prom Fashion Show nearly a week after, was ANOTHER "Volley for the Cure" at Rowan University! It was a day of good competition, fun, and once again, raising funds to make Epilepsy a disease of the PAST. Through both of these events we raised another $800. I am blessed to be a resident in Gloucester County and to be connected with many great souls.

Thats what our blog is about tonight, great souls and how they can free us from all we are struggling with.

Through being an advocate for Epilepsy, and striving for the day where we can look back and say WE were the hero's for the next generation; WE found a cure; I can say, it is because of the great souls I have encountered.

Graduating High School was a huge life changing event that took place. I then began to become fearful of what was next to come. Whether that was going to college in the fall, having to do things on my own, and not having the resources at my fingertips for Fearless Movement (like I have had in the past for our events at Glassboro High). Throughout all of these fears, I was reminded that, I am capable of whatever I set my mind to although, it was fear that was making me incapable of doing all I was created to do. It was not just then where this individual encouraged me. It was every time I battled something, whether it was small or large. Each time, I saw how great their soul truly was. That soul helped me free myself from all of the anxiety, fear and doubt I battled.

Now you may be wondering who may have told me that, who encouraged me to run after my passion by freeing myself from fear...Christine Abrams is known for having a great soul, and that was evident the first day of meeting her. Christine Abrams was also my Art teacher in high school and the impact she made in my life will always be with me. Through that encouragement, I soared on wings I didn't even know I had. I became a scholarship winner for the Epilepsy Foundation of New Jersey because of my passion for Epilepsy Awareness and Research. They saw that my advocacy became more then just an extra-curricular activity. My advocacy became part of who I am. It became part of my soul. That may have not been able to have been done without the help of my art teacher. She was the one who would point that out from time to time during dull and sad moments in my life. So this post goes out to her, and to all of the great souls out there tonight. Thank you for your encouraging spirit, and believing that I too could one day soar.

As always, I like to leave my readers a challenge. Tonight I leave you with this, be known for having a great soul. How may you do that? It was shown to me that it's quite simple. Be aware that confidence is key, and to gain that confidence, you are encouraged by someone. Be that someone that encourages others to soar on wings they didn't even know they had. Show them that fear will hold them back from amazing things, so encourage them to be fearless. Once you become that great soul, then you will encounter someone that wants to encourage you also. You will have someone to help you gain that confidence in your passions, dreams, and aspirations. Not too long after, you will then soar.

Until then, I am here to listen, encourage, inspire, and push you towards being a great soul. I believe in you. Stay courageous, and stay fearless.

Remember, "God did not give you a spirit of fear, but of love, power and sound mind." Use those three qualities to change our world.
